Our first ever DinoFest was a huge success! Thanks to the many, many people, including our guests, who made it possible. We videotaped seven of our guest palontologist's talks and they are now available on YouTube.

The Natural History Museum of Utah is holding its first ever DinoFest, celebrating all things dinosaur with a focus on the Utah dinosaurs that make NHMU's Past Worlds exhibit and collections so unique. Meet paleontologists who specialize in Utah dinosaurs and enjoy the Museum as we bring these creatures from long ago alive to guests of all ages. 13 confirmed featured paleontologists who will be giving short talks including NHMU's Randy Irmis and our two keynote speakers Luis Chiappe, Vice President of Research and Collections, Los Angeles Museum of Natural History and Lindsay Zanno, Director, Paleontology and Geology Research Laboratory, North Carolina Museum of Natural History. Dinosaur themed face painting.

Art, science and kinesthetic activity for families and kids. Open house in NHMU's Paleo Prep Lab where we spend thousands of hours each year preparing fossils from the field for scientists to study. Access to the Museum's paleo collections area where real fossils are stored for study by scientists today and for future generations of scientists.Extra gallery interpreters in the Past Worlds gallery who will help explain the many unique Utah dinosaurs on display. Demonstrations of Research Quest, an exciting new learning program that utilizes fossils from NHMU collections.

DinoFest is free with regular admission and free to members.
